Hope you all have an enjoyable day.
But on that note, I think I've rambled too long now.
I have created a Facebook Page for people who would like to help me in testing from time to time, any suggestions when the re-skinning will happen (as it's a copy at the moment, so adding features to a copy, defeats the purpose). You can request to join it, but while I'm on the only Admin at the moment, it may be a while before you are accepted (obv spammers will be added and then blocked)
So, we decided I'd do a homage, clone, copy (what ever you want to call it) of a game that was bigger in Japan that most places, it touched Europe (I believe) but I don't think it was even known in the US.
But, I've been trying to learn a little GML using Gamemaker Studio, back in February, I was chatting with a buddy of mine and trying to think of ideas to get my 'feet wet' so to speak, and he suggested I do a clone of a game (with the intention of re-skinning it at the end, as you can't copyright game mechanics, but you can copyright everything else, I don't fancy a battle with Namco).
So, what I have I been doing that has been keeping me quiet for so long. Well, first and foremost, I was figuring you were getting bored with my daily updates, so I knocked them on the head, just to see if I got any feedback. Which I didn't, so it wasn't a good nor a bad thing.
Hey All,So, yeah, I've been quiet on the website front (and Twitter) and I've put a few little things on Facebook, nothing special.
The game was called (well, it still is called, but you get the idea) Skykid.
You can find a short video of the first level of gameplay of MY version at YouTube
You can see someone else playing the game (all the way through I believe) at
A couple of wiki's on the game (not written by me)
